notes

  1. Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, are substances containing carbon that easily become vapours or gases. They can be present in paints, coatings and cleaning products. In coatings, they assist with the quality of application and drying. They can cause respiratory and other health problems for occupants when used indoors. Their release into the indoor atmosphere is called off-gassing and it occurs over time, not just during application or drying.
  2. Comparative costs are based on a project with a 120 minute fire rating level.
